Performance
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of Contract Development and Operations,
to coordinate programs and services that meet the needs of the business
community; to provide oversight of Coastline's Career and Workforce
Assessment Centers; to facilitate the Work-Based Learning program; to
conduct corporate outreach; and other related work as required.
EXAMPLES
OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the
following:
1. Provide supervision of the College's Workforce Assessment and Career
Centers.
2. Coordinate training, certification processes and job placement
activities with partner organizations.
3. Develop, evaluate, and administer Work/Career Readiness Certificates
to qualified individuals.
4. Supervise the staff responsible for administering testing and career
services.
5. Assist the Director in identifying workforce training needs and
coordinate the development and scheduling of courses and programs
to support identified needs.
6. Responsible for marketing efforts to promote training programs
and services for corporate and workforce programs; including but not
limited to the Career Center, Workforce Assessment Center, Work-Based
Learning, and Contract/Fee-based Education.
7. In collaboration with the Career and Technical program's and One-Stop
Services, identify and coordinate internships and job leads with area
businesses and students.
8. In collaboration with the Dean of Career and Technical programs,
coordinate the Work-Based Learning program, including promotion of
the program with businesses and students.
9. Participate in college advisory committees to guide new program
development.
10. Establish industry focus groups to identify types and levels of
work skills necessary to perform specific occupations.
11. Develop and distribute surveys; collect and analyze data.
12. Prepare reports and presentations.
13. Assist Director with developing and maintaining the department
budget.
14. Conduct workshops, presentations, and seminars for students, businesses
and community.
15. Lead and attend meetings comprised of diverse populations.
16. Solicit grant and contract education opportunities in collaboration
with various college entities, including Planning and Development,
One-Stop Center, Educational Deans, and Contract Education.
17. Work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Faculty/Educational Administrators
complete the Equivalency Application only if you do not meet the minimum
qualifications for the position you are applying to, and you wish
to be considered.
Knowledge of:
1. State and federal laws pertaining to employment/training issues
and programs and WIA.
2. Principles and practices of workforce development, assessment,
and program operations.
3. Principles and practices of supervision, training practices, and
aspects of leadership.
4. Principles and practices of training and supervision, goal setting;
organization and time management.
5. Basic knowledge of the principles of total quality and service.
6. Program budgeting methods and procedures.
7. Effective customer service and business relations strategies.
8. Proper English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
