TransPak is the leading custom crating and integrated domestic and international
freight forwarder in the Silicon Valley. Since 1952 we have been serving
high-tech equipment manufacturers and have opened new facilities in
Oregon, Austin Texas, Shanghai and Taiwan to serve those same customers
in the recent years. We are in an active search
for a Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing and
inventory control to join our Team. The position is based in our San
Jose headquarters.

In Cost Accounting:
• BS degree with an Accounting major.
• Reports to and assists Trans-Pak’s CFO with:
1. Maintaining and improving cost accounting and inventory systems.
2. Analyzing and driving to resolution issues effecting results within
Cost of Goods Sold including, but not limited to, leading cross functional
task teams on important issues.
3. Review BOMs and ensure costs are accurate.
4. Develop and maintain overhead rates.
In General
Ledger Accounting:
11. Preparing reports on inventory.
12. Updating and maintaining fixed asset system, including all month
end closing activities.
13. Analyze budgets compared to corresponding expenses.
• Assist in preparation and distribution of management reporting
requirements.
• Assist in preparation of complex, non-routine financial reports
and account analyses as requested by management.
• Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel and
Power Point applications.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proven track record of multi-tasking and adherence to pending
deadlines.
• Ability to react with a sense of urgency and manage conflicting
priorities.
• Developing and/or updating procedures.
• Ability to make effective recommendations to upper management.
• Special projects as assigned by Controller.
