License Description:
Needed for Certification: 1) Passage of AICPA Uniform CPA examination;
150 hours from an accredited school with a baccalaureate or higher degree
that includes at least 36 hours of accounting with 30 or more being
upper level (300 series) credit hours and 30 hours of related courses.
Transcripts required to account for all 150 semester hours of credit;
3) One year of accounting experience. Cannot use self-employment as
part of the qualifying accounting experience. Reciprocity
is available with verification of passage of CPA exam. (Call or check
Web site of Accountancy Board for specific details).
Certificate
Renewal:
Every 2 years with proof of continuing professional education -- 80
hours for CPAs in public accounting firms; 60 hours for CPAs working
for businesses, government, schools, non-profit organizations.
