Job Description
The Computer Systems Analyst
is a customer interfacing software support and development position.
The primary responsibilities of the role include ongoing support of
a 3rd party financial system, requirements analysis, design, architecting,
coding, testing, and supporting new and existing software applications
and systems. You will partner and develop a strong relationship with
Southern Company Generation's Financial and Contract Services area
for the direction, prioritization, development and support of their
business area. This position will work closely with the business unit
to understand their business and the systems to support their business
in addition to providing analysis, trouble shooting, and providing
technical support. In addition, this position is responsible for the
design, development, and maintenance of software applications and
systems.
This position ensures systems are designed, developed, maintained,
and operated to attain high availability and business effectiveness.
The scope of work includes:
Providing technical and
business knowledge expertise and applying those to a 3rd party product
Providing technical support and direction for the business customer
Driving the design and construction of customer's complex business
problems into innovative technology solutions
Providing technical expertise through coding, design and architecture,
participating in the full life cycle of application development using
various methodologies
Facilitating the maintenance, support, and upgrade of existing systems
Staying abreast of emerging software development techniques and technologies
Developing an in-depth knowledge of the Southern Company Generation
business
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related
field-preferred
