On Assignment currently has positions available for Medical Billers
& Collectors in the San Diego area. Job
Duties for Billers Include:
• Reading and understanding EOB’s
• Creating and submitting insurance claims on behalf of a patient.
• Ensuring accurate entry of all work into the designated computer
system.
• Complete claim forms, submit bills and claims, perform quality
control procedures on all claim forms and detail bills to ensure accurate
Billing.
• Researching and obtaining incomplete or additional information
for billing requirements.
• Run daily or monthly reports.
Job Duties for Collectors Include:
• Reconciliation / follow-up of accounts receivable
• Analyzing and processing adjustments
• Reviewing and processing denials
• Demonstrating legal and ethical responsibilities to protect
patient and confidentiality
• Collecting on self-pay account balances, working off ATB,
reviewing EOB, establishing payment arrangements
• Identifying patients who qualify for uncompensated services,
resubmitting or appealing unpaid claims and processing accounts for
bad debt. Job Requirements
Ideal
Candidates:
• Proper form completion and required coding
• Understand medical billing (Hospital and Physician)
• ICD-9 and CPT-4 Coding.
• Working knowledge of contract insurance, HMO’s, PPO’s,
Medicare/Medicaid, bankruptcy regulations and laws
• Understand collection rules and regulations
• Be familiar and know medical terminology
• Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Possess excellent communication skills and be well spoken
