Job Description
Medical transcriptionist responsible for transcribing medical reports
of pathology specialty nature. Medical language specialist who transcribes
and interprets dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals
regarding patient assessment, workup, therapeutic procedures, clinical
course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc., in order to document patient care
and facilitate delivery of healthcare services. Job Requirements
Duties
and Responsibilities:
Transcribe medical dictation to provide a permanent record of patient
care.
Transcribe single-specialty medical reports.
Determine appropriate document report type formats consistent with
current practices of dictation policy.
Operate designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment
as directed to complete assignments.
Research routine questions with patient care documentation.
Copy and distribute medical reports.
Maintain written or electronic logs of work completed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum
Qualifications:
Completion of medical transcription course/program, or experience
with medical transcription.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical
medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology,
and the various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility
knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices.
Must type 40-60 wpm.
