Specific Duties/Job Description:
The health care workers shall perform a full range
of medical assistant duties on site using Government furnished supplies,
facilities and equipment. Actual clinical performance will be a function
of the overall demand for medical assistant services. Caseload includes
scheduled and unscheduled requirements for care. Patient population
ranges from infants to geriatrics.
Participate in monthly meetings to review and evaluate
the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the
care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.
Should a meeting occur outside of the health care worker’s regular
working hours, the health care worker shall be required to read and
initial the minutes of the meeting.
Participate in monthly in-service training to MTF
staff members.
Perform other administrative duties to include: telephoning
each patient to confirm their appointment 24 hours prior, pre-screening
the patient questionnaire, pulling related patient records and studies
and performing patient call backs when directed.
Assist in maintaining medical records, respecting
confidentiality and standard MTF protocols.
Prepare exam rooms prior to patient's arrival.
Obtain patient's medical record following appropriate
procedures.
Check patient's vital signs, to include temperature,
respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure and pain assessment.
Obtain and document patient's current medical history,
drug history, chief complaints, allergies, pain assessment and vital
signs on the correct Standard Form before patient is in the exam room.
Assist the provider as needed during exams.
Requirements
MUST Possess a minimum of two years of experience
as an MA in an OB/GYN setting within the preceding three years.
Qualifications Required:
C.8.4.1 High school diploma or GED certificate.
C.8.4.2 Possess either:
C.8.4.2.1 Graduation from a medical assistant training program accredited
by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
(CAAHEP), the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
of the American Medical Technologists, or a formal medical services
training program provided by any branch of the Department of Defense
Armed Forces.Possess.
