Description
Pentagon Federal Credit Union is a $12 billion financial
institution and nationwide lender with a $5 billion residential real
estate portfolio. In this position you will supervise the daily operation
of a Real Estate collection unit within Delinquency Control, ensuring
collectors' compliance with PFCU policies and procedures and all applicable
government and secondary market regulations.
Responsibilities
* Performs collection activity on accounts when subordinates have
difficulty collecting.
* Reviews unit’s collection activity, identifying trends and
assessing unit effectiveness.
* Performs duties related to staff development such as performance
evaluation and training.
* Compiles data for the Manager for use in management reports and
presentations.
* Assists in the monthly identification of loans to be charged off.
* Reviews and recommends foreclosure and workout solutions for Executive
Management.
* Collects and analyzes data on accounts, reporting trends and profiles
to the Manager, Delinquency.
* Appears as witness on behalf of the credit union on legal matters
involving collections.
* Reviews Federal, State and local regulations pertaining to Real
Estate debt collection, ensuring unit compliance.
* Acts as liaison between PFCU and vendors (PSCU, First Data, Attorneys).
Requirements
* Associates Degree or a combination of education and experience that
provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform
the essential job functions.
* Three years’ collection experience or three years Real Estate
experience with a collection background preferred.
* Knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations concerning debt
collection regulations required.
* Familiarity with bankruptcy and collateral liquidation policy and
procedures required.
* Knowledge of Real Estate workouts (i.e. loan modifications, short
sale, deed in lieu and foreclosure).
* Strong oral and written communication skills required.
* Supervisory experience required.
You do not need a security clearance but you must pass a credit and
criminal background check.
