Responsibilities
of Coding Consultant - Hospital Medical Records includes :
The Coding Consultant accurately examines and evaluates the medical
record and health information by performing hospital inpatient, outpatient
and physician coding as well as hospital and physician audits, chart
analysis, abstracting and data entry.
Position requires local travel to various acute care facilities regionally
and or nationally and will need to maintain 15 CE credits per year.

Requirements for Coding Consultant - Hospital Medical Records:
Ideal candidate will possess the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT,
CCS.
Three years coding experience including hospital and consulting background.
Ability to consistently code at 90% accuracy and quality while maintaining
client specified production standards.
Must successfully pass coding test.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes.
Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently.
Computer knowledge of MS Office.
Must display excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to write reports with management review.
