Essential
Functions
1. Coordinates and organizes all activities within the Corporate Transcription
Department under the direction of the Corporate Service Line Manager.
2. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the department’s
operations in conjunction with the Corporate Service Line Manager.
3. Communicates cooperatively and constructively with physicians,
patients, office personnel, patients, guests and members of the healthcare
team.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
5. Interacts with the Medical Staff regarding transcription issues.
6. Conducts team meetings of Medical Transcription issues and education.
7. Identifies trends in Medical Transcription in order to develop
action plans, goals and objectives
8. Coordinates and prioritizes processes to ensure the department
operates within allocated funds
9. Reviews department performance and implements changes to improve
services, simplify work flow and activities, needs and problems.
10. Reviews standards of performance/monitors all staff members.
11. Coordinates employee scheduling to ensure adequate staffing to
meet departmental goals and standards.
12. Leads the transcription team to assure timely/accurate reports
and adherence to department goals and standards.
13. Performs and participates in departmental Quality Assurance studies.
14. Coordinates, participates and maintains process improvement, safety
and infection control procedures in conjunction with the Corporate
Service Line Manager.
