Seven or more years experience in organization programs,
contract management or function being managed plus five or more years
of project management that includes construction experience.
General Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related
technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training,
& experience. Demonstrated experience in providing strategic leadership
of projects with significant level of impact to the company. Demonstrated
experience in managing and directing cross functional teams to successful
completion with track record of building strong stakeholder relationships.
Experience in addressing and resolving any and all issues that impact
the delivery of wireline telecommunication service to customers. Demonstrated
experience with project management tools and methodology that includes
scope definition and requirements, work breakdown structures, identification
of risk, critical path management and scheduling. Experience working
in a continually changing environment under tight time constraints
while achieving results. Must possess strong persuasion skills with
a focus on obtaining support from middle and senior management in
various cross functional areas in the organization. Must possess strong
analytical, problem solving, negotiating and decision making skills.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be customer
focused to appropriately identify and respond to business needs. Must
be proficient using computer based applications such as in Microsoft
Project, Access, PowerPoint & Excel.
Preferred Skills:
Telecommunications Industry Experience. Graduate Degree.
Certified Project Management Professional. Experience with Continuous
Improvement Methodologies (Lean Thinking, Six Sigma, etc.)
Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the project management
and oversight of projects required for end-to-end wireline telecommunication
service delivery to commercial and utility customers. Typical responsibilities
include: managing the telecommunication projects from service request
through completion of construction; requires strong communication
and issue resolution management with all project participants and
key stakeholders including sales, engineering, environmental, real
property, regulatory, planning, construction, external affairs/municipalities
and accounting; establishing and maintaining prioritization of projects
based on customer feedback; addressing and resolving complex problems,
political and controversial issues with company personnel directly,
openly and in a positive manner; partnering with and functioning as
key consultant to senior management to identify issues and propose
solutions for service delivery; this requires the development and
implementation of project management tools and reports, including
but not limited to, tracking and status, critical path identification
and monitoring, project controls, and communication; functionally
managing the development of project work plans and templates, target
completion dates for off-net wireline services; will be primarily
responsible for the project control function by ensuring that project
stakeholders and functional managers are aware of customer prioritization
of projects and will manage the critical paths to ensure that customer
expectations are met for service delivery; serving .
