Your Career
We are seeking a dynamic Project Assistant, Nutrition Services to
join our dedicated team. This professional will perform important
functions such as:
. Demonstrate customer service oriented and collaborative
leadership aligned with the values and mission of the organization.
. Assist in the development of nutrition activities for the purpose
of achieving the objectives of funding contract.
. Assist in the development and facilitation of educational programs
for participating district staff, students, parents and community
members for the purpose of improving nutrition practices and increasing
physical activity of students and families.
. Participate in the scheduling of activities and classes for school
sites.
. Work with teachers to present nutrition classes at school sites
incorporating nutrition education in the core curriculum.
. Participate in the evaluation of activities and classes at sites.
. Promote communication between students, teachers and contract personnel.
. Maintain student data for reporting to California Department of
Public Health to comply with submission dates.
We are looking for a gifted individual to work in
Nutrition Services for our Alternative Education division. The person
selected will assist in the coordination and facilitation of programs
that provide nutrition education and physical activity promotion services
for at-risk students within guidelines from the California Nutrition
Network.
Requirements
Candidates are expected to have a solid working knowledge of and skill
to:
. Organizational
practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs.
. Current Dietary guidelines for Americans and the Food Guide Pyramid
and how this
information applies to children.
. Recent developments, current literature and sources of information
related to program.
. Trends in the area of nutrition and health.
. Maintain accurate records and submit reports in a concise, neatly
organized manner.
. Work independently with minimal supervision.
. Research, write, and gather data for program presentations.
. Collect data for program evaluation.
. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
. Work in an urban, multi-cultural environment with at-risk youth
