Director
of Information Technology, Half-Time
(Anticipated Opening) This
non-profit psychoanalytic institute (providing advanced post-graduate
educational training in psychoanalysis, child and adult psychotherapy,
and organizational consulting) anticipates an opening for a half-time
Director of Information Technology Services, contingent on available
funding.
The person hired
will be occupy a key position as the Institute evolves its use of
technology. The Director of Information Technology will take primary
responsibility for data-managment needs; internal and external electronic-communications;
and educational applications, both onsite and for distance learning
programs. Broad responsibilites will include managing databases (including
those for development and fundraising), work flow, and internal communications;
training and skill development for staff, faculty, and students; coordinating
website and e-mail with other external communications; organization
and maintenance of confidential clinical patient records (in keeping
with Federal HIPAA compliance requirements) in order to facilitate
access and the implementation of clinical research projects.
Initial specific
projects will include developing systems to organize contact information
for use in fundraising and event publicity; to enable faculty to publicize
intellectual products (books, papers, presentations) using the web
and email; and to choose and customize software for the conduct of
clinical research projects and the maintenance of clinic patient records.
Solid web skills and a flair for personal contact, along with a genuine
interest in non-profit organization management a must. Knowledge of
FirstClass (OpenText) servers will be considered a plus, as will familiarity
with medical informatics, but these are not requirements. This position
will report directly to the Director of the Institute.
