Outside of daily
work in the main medical center, a typical day for a YKHC professional
could consist of making small trips througout Bethel and the Y-K Delta
region (an area the size of Oregon) to treat residents in the 56 villages
and four subregional clinics we serve. You'll enjoy working with and
getting to know a diverse mix of delta residents and experience an
array of medical conditions and procedures you would normally not
encounter in the lower 48 states.

The Yukon-Kuskokwim
Delta Regional Hospital (YKHC) is a 50-bed general acute care medical
facility. The single-story 100,000 square foot facility is fully accredited
by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Services located in the hospital include an adult medical-surgical
ward, a pediatric ward, an obstetric ward, as well as outpatient family
medicine clinics, an emergency room, pharmacy, lab, X-ray, and specialty
clinics. YKHC offers the opportunity to work with an amazing staff

Responsible for
the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment,
nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Is responsible
for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on
nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other healthcare professional
to provide quality, cost-effective and efficient care and to achieve
the best possible patient outcome. Serves as a resource person when
the situation requires. Applies age specific considerations and cultural
diversity when rendering patient care. Supports Yukon Kuskokwim Health
Corporation's mission statement. Is responsible for care of all patients
from birth to elderly.
