Maintenance Controls Electrician – Food Manufacturing Facility
Ghirardelli Chocolate Company in San Leandro is seeking an experienced
maintenance Controls Electrician to work in a fast paced unionized food
manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate must be available to work
any shift and have Manufacturing Electrical experience.

operating chocolate manufacturer, Ghirardelli has established its position
as America’s Premium Chocolate Company with more than 150 years
of chocolate making experience. Ghirardelli’s product line includes
its signature Squares™ chocolate, Intense Dark™ chocolate,
and other chocolate confections, baking chocolate and beverages. These
items are sold through select specialty stores, grocery stores, drug
stores, mass merchandisers and department stores. In addition, Ghirardelli
sells a line of premium chocolate, syrups and drinks for the Food Service
channel. Ghirardelli currently owns and operates 14 retail stores in
four states, including the original Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop
located in San Francisco’s historic Ghirardelli Square .
Description and Requirements
• Skills and knowledge of electrical maintenance and preventative
procedures of production equipment.
• Experience in troubleshooting electrical problems in a fast
paced production environment
• High (480v) and low voltage.
• PLC troubleshooting. (Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
• HMI and SCADA knowledge. (Wonderware a plus)
• Temperature Controllers and PID Loops.
• Variable Frequency Drives.
• Servo Drives.
• AC/DC Motors.
• Proximity switches and photo eyes.
• Level Controls.
• Weight Controllers and Load Cells.
• Calibrations.
• Vision Systems.
• Ability to read European schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical safety codes (NEC)
• Basic Computer Skills. (Word, Excel)
• Good communication skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Good attendance and ability to work overtime required.
• Journeyman certification a plus.
