Hiring Academic Coordinators
In Contra Costa, Santa Clara and Aladmeda Counties.
Cultural Homestay International is a non-profit foreign exchange student
organization that provides host family placement and ongoing supervision
for 5 and 10 month academic programs. Basic
duties include recruiting and interviewing host families, supervising
and mentoring exchange students and maintaining professional relationships
with local high schools
Academic Coordinators, in addition to finding great
families and visiting each family, serve as support people for the
students during their stay in the U.S, helping them to adjust successfully
to their stay in California with a host family.
These are part-time positions, with flexible hours
and the ability to work from home.
As Academic Coordinator,
you are directly responsible to the Program Area Administrator, who
will provide you with support, guidance, and training as needed.
. Job Description
• Recruit and screen host families.
• Locate high school and secure approval.
• Submit paper work to Program Administrator.
• Provide orientation for host families and students.
• Be available for consultation to student, family, and school.
• Contact student and family on a monthly basis and fill out
report.
• Meet with the student a minimum of 3 times during the school
year.
• Contact the school 3 times during the school year.
Host Family Recruit Fees:
• $250. per student placed by June 1st.
• $150. for placements made after that. (Students must be placed
no later than 8/15.)
Monthly Contractor Fees:
• 1-4 placements = $55. /ea.
• 5-8 placements = $60. /ea.
• 9-11 placements = $65. /ea.
• 12+ placements = $70./ea. (*qualifies for CHI conference)
Incentives:
• *ACs with 12 placements in one academic year are invited to
the CHI conference in January. This year they took 87 people to Playa
del Carmen in the Yucatan for 1 week. All expenses paid... airfare,
lodging, food, drinks, entertainment, activities,
etc!
