Medical City Dallas Hospital
The Pathology Medical Transcriptionist provides accurate and timely
transcribed reports of physician/health professional dictation within
specified time frame. Under
direct supervision of the Lab Medical Director transcribes surgical
autopsy, clinical pathology as well as Pathologist correspondence;
specimen handing and send outs; retrieving history on patients for
conferences; quality assurance data and reporting; office telephone
coverage; bill coding and data entry; and general office duties.
Requirements
Job qualifications include:
High school diploma
or GED required.
Strong knowledge
of medical terminology required.
Competent word
processor with minimum speed of 70 wpm.
Previous experience
in medical transcription preferred. Pathology transcription experience
preferred.
Completion of
courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology preferred
Basic computer
skills required.
Strong communication,
interpersonal and customer service skills required.
