Job summary
The Communications
Assistant provides direction and daily management oversight for the
Agency’s telecommunications network. Responsible for he design,
implementation, and support activities associated with multi-site
voice networks.
Requirements
AA or Business
background
Excellent oral and written skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Possess strong problem solving skills
Possess strong customer service background
Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Summary
of essential job functions
• Provides oversight and management for the voice solutions;
• Monitors network performance, providing pro active solutions
to capacity issues;
• Provides technical oversight for problem resolution while
ensuring compliance;
• Manages carrier-based services and coordinates provisioning
and maintenance issues;
• Performs network planning, implementation, and support for
telecommunications services;
• Proactively addresses network needs to ensure a high level
of network performance;
• Provides oversight for voice network selection, design, implementation,
and support;
• Serves as point of escalation for critical issues and problem
resolution;
• Develops full scale project plans and associated communication
documentation;
• Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements,
documentation, and presentations;
• Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential
crises, devises contingency plans, and communicates via chain of command;
• Estimates resources and participants needed to achieve project
goals;
• Effectively communicates project expectations to team members
and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
• Able to perform the following: propose solutions to problems
without prompting; predict and avoid potential problem areas/issues;
handle challenging business issues and or personalities in an effective
manner that avoids unnecessary escalation;
• Effective in realizing cost saving measures.
Other Duties
• Experience and working knowledge of routing protocols;
• Ensure compliance with all safety related codes;
• Oversight of agency telephone directory
• Other duties as assigned.
