Job Description
The Pre-Billing Data Entry/Insurance Verification
Representative will be responsible for accurate data input of ambulance
trip and other information into computer systems. Verifies insurance,
patient information systems, ambulance service reports/trip tickets,
and other items. Reviews patient care reports, hospital face sheets,
ambulance dispatch and other documents for accuracy. Searches for
customer accounts and other necessary information. Counts and batches
processed tickets. Other duties as assigned.
Hours:
6:30AM-3PM plus over-time based on business need.
Possible overtime on weekdays and weekends.
Job Requirements
High school diploma
or GED required. Minimum one year prior work experience in data entry
with focus on 10-key and working knowledge of various computer peripherals.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Working knowledge of medical
terminology, health insurance, Medicare, Medi-Cal billing guidelines,
and/or ICD-9 coding are preferred. General working knowledge of PC’s
and/or patient accounting computer systems. Previous medical transportation
or healthcare business experience preferred. General working knowledge
of PCs and/or patient accounting computer systems. Must type minimum
45 wpm and be able to key 6,000 keystrokes per minute. Must be available
to work over time based on business need. Meet department production
and quality expectations. Strong organizational skills. Effective
oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Able to perform
duties within tight time constraints and handle large volumes of work.
Able to work cooperatively in a team atmosphere.
