Pentagon Federal Credit Union is a $12 billion financial
institution and nationwide lender with a $5 billion residential real
estate portfolio. In this position you will initiate all the appropriate
follow-up activity on delinquent real estate accounts and maintain
on-line chronological records of all facts, information developed
and actions taken.
Responsibilities
* Initiates appropriate follow-up activity on delinquent
real estate accounts and maintains required chronological records
of all facts, information developed and actions taken. Analyzes information
in the member’s record, decides what action will be taken and
selects a method for effecting that action.
* Determines reason for delinquency and establish a repayment plan
at first member contact.
* Follow-ups with member no more than two days past the promised payment
date to ensure receipt and crediting of the scheduled payment.
* Records all collection activity in the appropriate collection systems.
* Establishes ongoing collection/work-out plan with the designated
DCC Unit Supervisor or Operations Manager.
* Performs skip tracing by contacting third parties such as relatives
of the delinquent member, employers, personnel officers, and credit
bureaus for the purpose of determining whereabouts of the member.
* Keeps Supervisor and Manager abreast of any potential early losses.
Requirements
* High School diploma or a combination of education and experience
that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily
perform the essential job functions.
* At least one year of experience in a real estate collections capacity
is required, along with a good working knowledge of federal, state
and local regulation pertaining to real estate collections, foreclosure
and bankruptcy practices
* Knowledge of preventive, productive and remedial financial counseling
is required
* Effective oral and written communication skills required
* Knowledge of the mortgage payment processing system is desired
* Spanish speaking skills are a plus!
