designs and produces ground-penetrating radar for military application.
We are committed to developing the premier landmine detection system
for robotic, vehicle-mounted platforms. This technology also has long-term
opportunity in other, non-military applications. Our R&D team is
based in Sterling, VA. We are currently recruiting
for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Charlottesville, VA location.
This position is responsible for the development, monitoring, and
the continual improvement of manufacturing processes and methods in
support of assigned product lines.
Essential
functions
*Develops and documents manufacturing processes.
*Leads and/or participates in process improvement initiatives.
*Assists in training manufacturing personnel.
*Audits new suppliers for assigned products utilizing existing company
procedures.
*Develops data collection and analysis for assigned products..
*Functions as the liaison between Manufacturing Operations and the
development teams.
*Performs in process audits in manufacturing operations.
*Works with Quality and other departments as required to develop quality
plans for all assigned products.
*Monitors progress on development project issues and expedites completion
as required to support internal schedules.
*Participates in weekly MRB meetings.
*Recommend, purchase, and implement capital equipment.

Ability to root cause quality issues that surface in a product manufacturing
operation
Qualifications
*Bachelors degree in Physical Sciences preferred.
*Five plus years prior experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
working within an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.
