Description
Middleware Tools Administrator
Focused on bringing the Cornerstone Values of our organization to life,
we have over 100 people within our Information Services team working
diligently to support the business operations of our organization.
We are looking for an ambitious and service-minded contributor for our
Application Services Tools team. The ideal candidate will bring mid
level experience in Unix/Linux and be able to make a direct and immediate
impact as part of our Application Services team. Direct responsibilities
will include maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting both our Web
and Application servers, Integration Tools and middleware infrastructure,
administration of configurations, scripts and jobs running on middleware
nodes, deploying upgrades and patches, communication of critical information
to line-of-business and operations teams, configuring and building middleware
tests, and assisting with the evaluation of new middleware products.
Essential
Functions
Maintain, monitor,
and troubleshoot middleware software systems
Administer configurations, scripts and jobs supporting Web and Application
Servers and Integration Services
Track and deploy vendor and proprietary software upgrades and patches
Make appropriate infrastructure recommendations to enhance middleware
performance and operations
Utilize scripting to automate repetitive tasks using Perl UNIX and/or
Linux
Work in partnership with other teams to create and deploy middleware
systems and middleware monitoring solutions
Provide technical support to various line of business and enterprise
technology teams as necessary due to dependencies on middleware software
systems
Participate in off hours support schedules on a rotation basis

Requirements
Required/Preferred Qualifications
Some understanding
of networking concepts and their relationship to middleware is preferred
Familiarity with system monitoring applications and techniques is
preferred
Familiarity with web/application servers is preferred
Familiarity with version control software is preferred
Exposure to Java application programming is preferred
