Summary
Under general
supervision, performs a variety of customer service duties requiring
thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable procedures
and policies. Tasks require excellent communication and prioritization
skills.
Job Specifics
Assist the intake
examiner, CIU supervisor, CIU manager and CIU medical only examiners
in completing the “initial” injured employee contact,
within the first 24 hours of claim set up to establish rapport and
provide general claims information.
Responsible for obtaining/updating additional claim information that
may be received via telephone or from written correspondence and entering
this into the system.
Document all completed injured employee contacts into the system and
provide timely follow-up as needed.
Timely management of assigned tasks by system diary or through regular
review of system generated reports.
Performs other job-related duties related to the general processing
and intake/Investigation for new claims.
Education,
Skills and Experience Requirements
High School diploma
or GED required.
One plus years of general office experience and/or Workers’
Compensation claims assistant or Call Center experience preferred.
Bilingual skills English/Spanish required
Computer system experience required.
Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills required;
telephone courtesy a must.
Time management, organization, and problem solving skills required.
Typing skills 35wpm
