Tri-City Health Center (TCHC) is a growing non-profit, 501c3, community health center located in Fremont. We have 160 employees and serve close to 20,000 patients/clients. TCHC provides comprehensive health care services to indigent populations in southern, central, and eastern Alameda County.

Tri-City Health Center is seeking candidates for a full-time Bilingual – Mandarin/English Speaking Medical Assistant. This position is 37.50 hours per week (7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week) and will require evening and Saturday work hours.

Medical Assistant – Mandarin Speaking Required
Assist clinicians with the provision of patient care in accordance with Tri-City Health Center clinic protocols and policies. Utilize bilingual skills to facilitate communication with non-English speaking patients. Prepare, stock and clean examination rooms daily per supply/instrument check list. Prepare patients for exams to include, but not limited to performing tests or procedures (such as intake, vital signs, vision and hearing screening). Review patient charts to identify reason for visit, and needed information to include, but not limited to missing information, lab tests, and other relevant information prior to being seen by the clinician. Provide a variety of lab duties and tasks per clinic protocols to include, but not limited to instructing patients, completing logs and forms, perform finger-sticks, urine tests, stool tests, and injections under appropriate supervision. Provide information and education to clinic patients, assist with medical history forms as needed, and complete paperwork for patient referrals. Assist with inventory and ordering as requested. Work flexible schedule and overtime, as necessary.

Required:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of medical assistant training program from an accredited school.
• CPR from AHA approved course.
• Bilingual – Fluent in Mandarin.
• Three months customer service experience.
• Valid Drivers license and insurance.

Preferred:
• Merritt or practice management system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the internet.
