The Clinical Nurse Specialist acts as an expert clinician,
educator, consultant and researcher. In collaboration with nursing
& medical staff, the CNS monitors the clinical care of patients
and provides clinical support to improve patient care and patient
outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Master of Science in Nursing in area of specialization.
Experience:
Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience;
demonstrated experience in clinical program development, outcomes
management, and teaching. Cardiac Subspecialty required if working
in Critical Care Area.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the current Nevada
State Board of Nursing Practice.
License/Certification:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse
in the State of Nevada. Certification in area of specialization is
highly desirable. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification.
Other:
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills
necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients
served on the assigned unit/department.
