FMC Corporation is currently seeking a Boiler Operator at our Bessemer City, North Carolina manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity to join in our Manufacturing department to utilize your knowledge and experience and potentially grow your career.

Responsibilities:

Operations:

* Observes process variables using gauges and instruments and adjusts valves and controls to set and maintain specified operating ranges.
* Observes processing and auxiliary equipment to detect malfunctions then repairs or submits a request for repairs.
* Collects appropriate information to trouble shoot problems identifying causes and corrective action.
* Dismantles and assembles specific processing and packaging equipment.
* Samples and tests or submits requests for tests of process samples and makes required adjustments.
* Drives forklift to move palletized material to and from process areas.
* Documents each shift's activities.
* Operates and maintains high pressure steam boilers (above 15 pounds pressure), or high pressure/high temperature water boilers (above 160 pounds pressure at 250 degrees Fahrenheit) in support of plant production processes

Safety, Health, and Environment:

* Performs job duties in a manner that supports the belief that all jobs can be performed safely and that no job is worth doing that would risk the health, safety, or welfare of the plant employees or community.
* Ensures the environmental equipment and operating practices are in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
* Participates in incident investigations identifying root causes and appropriate corrective action to improve safety and environmental performance in the area.

Plant Emergency Response:

* In emergency situations, removes people from confined spaces.
* Contains and cleans-up hazardous waste spills.
* Suppresses fires inside and outside of buildings.
* Administers basic first aid.

Requirements

Experience:

* Knowledge of LQM Database software, use Lotus Notes electronic mail, and SAP maintenance notification software.

Education:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
