and collection experience is preferred or a degree in medical assisting.
Duties
include:
* Claim submission and follow up with insurance carriers
* Heavy customer service including collections calls and data entry
* Must work well as a team player and be highly motivated in a fast
paced busy office
* Must be computer savvy, detail oriented and work well under pressure
in difficult situations
* Responsible for calling hospitals, patients and ground authorities
to try and identify any potential insurance payer
* Work hours can be very flexible
Job Requirements
Skills
required:
* Strong data entry and customer service skills necessary. Medical
background a plus or medical certification
* Computer and internet skills mandatory.
* Enters patient claim data into billing software and prepares accurate
printed and electronic claims for submission to appropriate insurance
companies.
* Responsible for working directly with patients, as necessary and
appropriate, to ensure rapid and complete payment of their claims.
* Heavy phone usage involving research of missing patient information.
* Monthly reporting and statement
